The YWR are thrilled to announce that we have managed to secure nearly £100,000 of funding from the UK Government through its Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to help construct a new Visitor Centre and Working Facility at Fimber Halt!
Today marks the launch of a major fund raising campaign – Raise the Roof – to fully kit the building out to include items such as track, switches, flooring, lighting and much more
This is a huge leap forward for the YWR and will be the largest infrastructure project undertaken by the YWR since first gaining access to the site in October 2012.
This project will allow vehicle restoration works and other jobs to take place inside which is so much better than under tarpaulins! In addition, it will allow visitors to get up close and see works first hand that usually happen behind closed doors.
